Dear Friends,
We’re writing to share some important updates with you — but also to let you know about some of the challenges we’re facing. Nothing will stop us from doing everything in our power to help fix the outrageous injustice of people being forced to pay out-of-pocket for infertility treatment.
Let me begin by sharing some of the roadblocks ahead — and then what we’re doing to overcome them.
A Real Uphill Battle
Even after President Trump’s encouraging executive order in February, we continue to face intense, well-funded opposition from major far-right pro-life groups and large insurance companies. These organizations are deploying multi-million dollar campaigns to block any progress toward expanding access to infertility care. Some are even falsely telling the White House that public opinion has shifted — claiming that a majority of Americans no longer support access to fertility treatment.
That’s simply not true.
That’s why our work is more vital than ever. We must continue to show that helping families bring children into the world is not just compatible with pro-life values — it is a pro-life value. And that treating infertility is a medical necessity, no different than treating any other disease — not an elective. Our advocacy is part of a comprehensive strategy to meet this opposition head-on.
New Poll by President Trump’s Pollster
A newly released poll we commissioned with President Trump’s own pollster, Tony Fabrizio, was just published in The Daily Caller — and the results are stunning. The numbers confirm what we’ve long known: Americans overwhelmingly support access to infertility treatment. Some groups are trying to mislead the White House about public support for infertility treatments, claiming that there has been a shift from before the elections when many were in support, but our poll proves that Americans overwhelmingly support access to infertility care and support has only grown since, including conservatives and people of faith. The numbers are stunning:
Key findings:
82% of Catholics support infertility treatment
76% of Republicans support infertility treatment
73% of self-described "pro-life" Americans support infertility treatment
86% of Americans overall believe couples should have access to treatment to start a family

White House Engagement
Behind the scenes, we’ve been working tirelessly, maintaining consistent communication and organizing several meetings with senior White House officials about the crisis families are facing when forced to pay out-of-pocket for infertility treatment.
One especially impactful meeting we helped arrange was between our Advisory Board Chair, Dr. Kaylen Silverberg, and senior administration officials. Dr. Silverberg provided essential insight — both scientific and moral — on the urgent need to expand access to care.
Push for Executive Action
Since President Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee, we’ve narrowed our focus to one clear and achievable goal: executive action that would dramatically expand access to infertility treatments and open the door for millions of families nationwide.
We are doing everything we can to ensure that whatever action is taken will be meaningful and truly impactful. While the White House is also hearing from opponents, we remain deeply encouraged by our ongoing engagement. With Hashem’s help, and your continued support and tefillos, we are hopeful that positive action is forthcoming — and we hope to share good news very soon.
In addition to our broader advocacy for coverage, we are also encouraged by signs of potential negotiations with major pharmaceutical companies that could reduce the cost of treatments by up to 30%.
Meeting with the New BOP Director
On the pidyon shvuyim front, we’re pleased to report a very productive meeting last week in Washington with the new Director of the Bureau of Prisons, William K. Marshall. We’re highly encouraged by his leadership and our developing partnership with him and his team.
After discussions about the First Step Act implementation which still has room to improve, Director Marshall made clear that properly implementing the First Step Act (FSA) is a top priority — a refreshing and welcome message. We were especially heartened to hear that he will consider the creation of a full-time FSA Advisor, tasked exclusively with overseeing implementation. We believe this would be a much-needed and impactful reform.
We look forward to continuing to share only good news with you.
With deep gratitude,
Rabbi Moshe Margaretten
